Embassy of India, Beijing … Notifications for overseas electors to submit their registration forms The representation of the Peoples Act 2010, has been amended by which overseas Indians will be able to exercise their franchise in their respective constituencies. The overseas Indians are required to send their applications for registration in the electoral rolls of the constituency of their place of residence, as shown in the passport. The application form may either be submitted in person directly to the Registration Officer of the constituency concerned or sent to such Registration Officer by post, along with necessary documents. Copies of the notifications issued in this regard by the Chief Electoral Officers of the states of West Bengal, Assam, Kerala and Tamil Nadu and the Union Territory of Puducherry which will be going to polls, are attached. On attestation of form 6-A and attestation of other documents related to the election process, it has now been decided by Indian Ministry of External Affairs in consultation with Ministry of Law & Justice and Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs that such attestation will only be self attestation by the overseas electors and not by the Indian Mission/Posts abroad.
